Songjeongok in Haeundae, Busan

   To celebrate my father's birthday on the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, we went to Songjeongok in Haeundae, Busan.

   It is a famous Korean traditional course meal restaurant near Songjeong Beach, known for its abalone hot stone pot rice and steamed beef in a cypress wood box✨

Abalone Pot Rice & Steamed Beef Set

1. Outside and Parking
   Walking down just one block from Songjeong Beach past the cafe "Suwol Gyeonghwa," you will see Songjeongok with its warm wood-toned, triangular roof.

   There were about 3 parking spaces right in front of the restaurant. If those are full, you can also park along the roadside!

2. Inside the Restaurant
   Since Songjeongok is a Korean traditional Hanok-style restaurant, it was decorated with many beautiful traditional items. It reminded me of my grandmother's old house, making me feel like I had traveled back in time!⏳✨

   The menu on the table had only two options:
Abalone Pot Rice Set (16,000 KRW)
Abalone Pot Rice & Steamed Beef Set (20,000 KRW).

   Outside the restaurant, the five dishes included in the Steamed Beef Set were listed in detail:

✅ Abalone Carpaccio (Cold Salad)
✅ Abalone & Clam Thick Soybean Stew

3. Abalone Pot Rice & Steamed Beef Set
   We ordered the Abalone Pot Rice & Steamed Beef Set, which comes with the special wood-steamed meat.

   First, fresh oysters and side dishes were served in a big, generous spread. I could see various types of kimchi, bean sprouts, crunchy kelp noodles, and the savory abalone thick soybean stew🦪✨

   Salted seafood sides (shrimp, pollock roe, and squid) were placed on the left, while the fresh abalone carpaccio and
spicy noodles were on the right.

   Then, they served individual portions of the creamy abalone pot rice and the steamed beef box to each person.

   Setting up four servings made the table so full that we almost ran out of space. The food was incredibly hearty and plentiful!

   The abalone carpaccio featured fresh abalone, shrimp, various vegetables, and lemon. It was sour and refreshing, perfect to start our meal🦐🍋

   The spicy noodles with abalone were savory, spicy, and very delicious.

   The creamy pot rice was made with healthy rice milled on the very same day. They say it not only tastes amazing but is also highly nutritious and easy to digest!

   Mixing the hot rice with the fluffy egg, creamy sauce, and abalone made every bite incredibly soft and flavorful.

   The individual steamed beef box consisted of tender pork boiled with 13 traditional herbs, along with steamed sweet pumpkin, bean sprouts, and mushrooms. It was super soft, light, and delicious💖

   The food at Songjeongok was not too salty or heavy, so both my parents and the rest of us loved it. Our stomachs felt very comfortable even after the big meal, making it the perfect choice for a family dinner!
